چکیده

Seedling abnormalities are a common problem in micropropagation and require investigation. This study aimed to assess the growth characteristics morphoanatomy of stem apices nodal segments basil (Ocimum basilicum) ‘Dark Opal’ inoculated medium containing combinations 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA). Presence calluses, adventitious roots, abnormal seedlings was quantified at 20 40 days after inoculation. Growth, anatomical, morphological parameters were evaluated 80 days. Explant type regulators influenced Opal’. Treatment with 0.05 0.1 mg L-1 NAA BAP increased leaf number, fresh weight, dry weight decreased incidence calluses abnormalities. Hyperhydric showed morphoanatomical alterations, such as disorganization expansion intercellular spaces consequent increase parenchymal length. Thus, results this research allowed optimizing understanding important effects on development species, which will help vitro mass culture programs biofactories for production secondary metabolites.

Effects of explant type and growth regulators on callus induction in four ecotypes of Persian shallot

Allium hirtifolium commonly known as Persian shallot is an important wild medicinal plant distributed from North West to central and South West of Iran. To establish an efficient protocol for callus induction, the effects of explant type and growth regulators on callus induction in four ecotypes of Persian shallot were evaluated. Two explants types included basal plates and young leave...

Effects of Plant Growth Regulators and Explant on Callus Induction in Cuminum cymium L.

Cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) as a member of the Apiaceae family is one of the most important medicinal plants in Iran. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of plant growth regulators and explant type on callus induction in cumin. For this purpose the cumin seeds (Kuhbanan accession) were disinfected with sodium hypochlorite and alcohol and cultured on MS basal medium. Leaf and hypo...
